Breezy ....

20th March 2021 (Saturday)     09.00 .... we have a breezier morning so there


is  a bit of wind-chill, but, it’s not cold.  The sky is overcast but the sun is beginning to burn off the cloud, so ...  we should have sunny spells soon.    My ‘plan’ for today, is to sort out the Hutte and potter around Ivy most of the day.   I’ve been for the paper.... now I need breakfast.









21.00    My word..... I have had a lazy restful day.   I had big plans to finish the Hutte but they all fell by the wayside.    Remember Thursday .... that gorgeous, hot sunny day?  the day that I went out twice on the bike, and did a load of work on the Hutte?     Well it caught up with me today.... I never got out of pottering mode.     I did a lot of small jobs:  like setting up the easel:  hanging the Port and Starboard lamps.... stuff like that.    And browsing .... oh I did a lot of browsing:  actually some of the stuff I did has surprised me.   One other surprise I got, was disturbing a hibernating Queen wasp in one of the folders.    I put her out to a warm place in the garden in the hope that she will survive.... thought I suspect it might be too early for her;  she looked groggy.    She looked like I look, when I wake up after having ‘50’ in the Hutte.    The day hasn’t been wasted, just not as productive as I’d intended..... but I have enjoyed it;  even though I didn’t get out on the bike.    .

This morning.

The only time I have been outside Ivy Cottage gate was when I went for the paper this morning .... and that was in the car.   I must take the bike up to Elie for the paper tomorrow.    My ‘plan’ for tomorrow is, finish the Hutte, go to the kirk (via Zoom .... I might even stay for the ‘rooms’ tomorrow), and go for a run on the bike or a walk up to the Pony Field.    That’s assuming I get out of ‘pottering mode’.   When I have my bedtime chocolate, I’ll take a couple of pills .... and go to bed earlier than I did last night.  I worked late on the computer.

Tomorrow’s weather for KY 9 is, ‘sunny intervals with a gentle breeze’.... another bonnie day:  a good day for me working on the Hutte.   I’m orf to make the chocolate and have an early night in bed with my book.    I’d better have a look at today’s ‘News’ on the computer first.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
