wall sunny Sussex; , though it is cool at the moment the sun
will soon begin to raise the temperature.
They (the weather people) expect it to be hot, but don’t think the
temperature record will be broken today.... and this is to be the last of this
hot spell .... with more normal (for this time of year) weather tomorrow.
I’m
going ‘downtown’ before the temperature
rises, so that I’m back at “No 1” before the High Street is like an oven. Pollution levels are at Medium, which is
uncomfortable in the heat. They
recommend that people with breathing problems should avoid doing too much. Presumably people without breathing problems can do anything they want; hauling the pollution into their lungs and

problems for

Sussex,
and the whole of the southeast, is beautiful, but there are hidden dangers in
the air that’s for sure. It amazes me to
think that the powers that be want to build another million houses down
here: that equals at least 2 million
cars etc!.
21.30 ‘The Boy’ has down a lot of walking
today.... probably 11 kilometres in total;
downtown in the morning, then Ashdown Forest in the afternoon. I am a well tired boy tonight; but I am beginning to feel fitter. Walking in Sussex usually involves a lot of
steep slopes.
We
walked down to the Airman’s Memorial;
erected in memory of the six crew killed

when their Wellington MkII
bomber crashed coming back from a raid on Cologne in 1941. The
Memorial is a fair distance from the car park.... must be about three and a
half kilometres at least ... easy on the way there, but hard work on the way
back. It didn’t seem so hard the last time I did
it! That said it was near enough the
hottest time of day when we did it today;
hence the somewhat bedraggled look of ‘The Boy’. Then again .... I’m made for tidying up!

We’re
having a rest day tomorrow .... packing a bag, and getting ready to travel to
Somerset on Friday. We will take time out to have a run down to Eastbourne where 'JB' needs to do abit of shopping.
