Overcast and slightly warmer ....

14th February 2021 (Sunday)       08.30 .... “Happy Valentine’s Day” to everybody;   I hope your day and ‘bubble’, is overflowing with love and happiness, in spite of the lockdown.   My ‘bubble’ is full of ‘me’ .... and I’m feeling ‘romantic’ .... so (((((hugs))))) and XXXXXX’s to all the girls on this lovely Planet of ours. On first looking out this morning I thought this was ‘another gloomy day’ .... but there are bright bits in the sky, the weather forecast isn’t that bad (the wind is going to veer to the Southwest) and it isn’t frosty.     I’ll go for the paper after breakfast (‘cos I’m hungry) and to the harbour to check for discrepancies. 10.30     All is good at Elie and Earlsferry this morning;   I’ve been for the paper, checked the harbour and found out that it is not warm out.    I was only able to take six photos because I’d forgotten to empty the camera card.... so I’ll have to ...

Bonnie morning with a cold wind ....

13th February 2021 (Saturday)       10.00 ....we have a lovely morning at the Centre of the Universe, but there is a cool breeze, so wrap up well when you go out.     And .... the pavements are icy so take care.    I walk on the road whenever I can. We had a beautiful pre-sunrise sky this morning, but a bank of low cloud obscured the actual sunrise;    and it was too cold to wait the 15 minutes or so it was going to take the sun to climb above said cloudbank.    I’m no’ sayin’ that it’s cauld on the beach; but it’s probably warmer at the harbour! 19.30    It wasn’t warmer at the harbour, but there was shelter in the lee of the granary.   I remembered to pick up the paper....and to go to the Cash point to get ‘real’ old fashioned money.    This is the first time I have taken money out since April last year;  I’d almost forgotten how to do it!   The paveme...

The thaw has begun....

12th February 2012 (Friday)       09.30.... There’s a brisk wind this morning so it’s colder; that said, it is a lovely morning for a walk.   I went to the beach for my sunrise time walk;  sunrise was never going to be visible due to low cloud.... but I enjoy being out at that time.   I am now ready to go for the paper (by car) and to check the ‘arbour. Once upon a time the ‘good old days’ were 70 to 80 years ago’ .... now they are only a year ago.    16.00    Well ... I went for the paper then checked out the harbour;  the harbour road is still icy, though it the thaw will help to clear it.   Mind you it’ supposed to be frosty tonight.... so it could be icy again.    Then again it was supposed to be frosty last night but that never happened. A roofing company (Reid from Dunfermline) were at the granary fixing the storm damage.      I have worked on some really co...

Lovely, peaceful morning ....

11th February 2021 (Thursday)     10.00 .... We have a gorgeous morning:    bright, sunny and colder... and peaceful under a clear blue sky, especially after the moody skies of the past few days.   The pavements are treacherous, though they can be walk on, with care, where there’s snow lying.   I’ve been to the beach to catch the sunrise;  and had my breakfast.... now I’m thinking of getting in the car and going for the paper. I’ve come to the conclusion that ‘the jab’ has more subtle side effects than I first thought:   Nothing that I can put my finger on, just a slight feeling of being ‘under the weather’, most of the time.     I say this because I am feeling brighter this morning, the best that I have felt since I got ‘the jab’ two weeks ago.    Of course it’s maybe absolutely nothing to do with ‘the jab’;   could simply be the cold weather.      I just thought I’d mention that....

Definitely wintry ....

Image
10th February 2021 (Wednesday)      09.30 .... It is much colder this The Ferry High Street at sunrise time. morning.... and we’ve had more snow so it is also very wintry;  the snow on the car roof is about four inches deep so it must be that on the ground as well. I did the same walk as I did yesterday, with the camera at a different format setting but it’s still not the one I had;   today’s photos are skinnier..... more panoramic.    I know how to change the settings now .... so I’ll get it right the next time I’m out. Although I did the same walk as I did yesterday the photo’s are completely different;   not just because of their shape.... but because the sky is completely different, but still interesting.    Today’s sky is once more a photographer’s dream, if they like active shower clouds... and today’s shower clouds are active.    There’s. a proper wintry feel to the air. The beach at sunrise time. 12.00 ...

Snow ....

9th February 2021 (Tuesday)      11.30.... We woke up to two inches of snow this morrrrrrrning.... and we have had a few more showers to add to it, though the sun is melting it between said showers.   I am, this goes really without saying, the snow got me into a state of excitement.   Went out with the camera at 07.45 and got back home at 0815... 415‘clicks’ later.   My word I enjoyed myself;   and I only went up The Ferry High Street, down to the beach and home by way of the bents... with a wee sortie up to the golf course at the end.   So far I have looked (and sorted) at 83 photographs so there’s plenty left to ‘play’ with after lunch.   In fact I may add to today’s tally by going out again, later in the afternoon;  after I find something on the tele that will lullaby me to sleep!   Usually the ‘News’. When I   went out this morning, the path, from the front door to the pavemen...

Happy boy ...

8th February 2021 (Monday)     11.00 ....  what a difference the sun makes:  we have a bright and sunny morning with shower clouds around.    The showers fall as snow; its the ‘Beast from the East MkII’ down south.... but  we only have a sprinkling of snow now and again... so it’s a more of a ‘Pussy from the East’ here.   That said it is cold.   I went to the beach this morning, at sunrise time;   it was absolutely brilliant.    The clouds, and I like clouds, were brilliant.    I enjoyed a slow potter along to Telfer Wynd on the beach then home by way of the bents.     I am a happy boy. 17.00     After sorting out the photos I got on the beach I went out on the bike, for the first time in a week or so, and did the ‘roond the villages’ tour.    The weather was perfect... but it was cold.    I’ve just come in from locking up the bike and it fe...
