Sunny and warm .....
31st August 2024 (Saturday) 10.15 .... It's a beautiful morning; sunny with only a light Easterly
breeze and it's warm. I'd expect the breeze to freshen later so it might feel cooler if the wind does freshen. I've cleaned the window and, after a cuppa, I will putty and fill where necessary; then undercoat it. It's a perfect day for painting.16.00 Much progress has been made with the window, having cleaned and put new putty round most of the panes. Having done all that I'll have to clean the window again to get rid of finger prints that are all over the glass. Softening the putty was the job that took up most of the time; it was a sitting down job.... very relaxing. It's along time since I did that; probably when I was an apprentice!
The weather has been perfect for working out on the patio; the wind has freshened and I imagine it will be cold on the beach. I have no intention of going down to find out! The East wind is to be with us for a couple of days. 'Blob' has been twittering on top of the Rowan tree; this will be him setting up his winter quarters. I'm sure he claims most of The Ferry'. That reminds me; I'd better start buying more McVities Digestive biscuits!
I'm going to have another cuppa, to take out to the patio, when I go to clean the finger prints off the glass. When I'm not pottering about at the window, I watch the Paralympics. The athletes are amazing when you consider the impairments that they have had to overcome to get where they are!
20.30 Shona dropped in for catch up chat in the afternoon; she had moored the car up in Elie and walked along the beach. We had a cuppa sitting in the sun, and caught up with each others 'news'. A flock o' Starlings made a short visit to the Rowan tree; in fact I'd say that we have a small 'murmuration' of Starlings this year...it looked like 50 birds in the flock.
