Bright and breezy ....
17th August 2024 (Saturday) 09.00 .... it's a nice, fresh morning, but the cool in the frisky SW
breeze (F3); a good morning for doing the Coastal path. I'm excited about getting the garden back next week.... with a spell of summer weather to enjoy morrrrrrning coffee on the patio. It's breakfast time; and I can make my porridge with milk now that the pills are finished. I'm a 'happy boy'!
19.15 Iain set up the Wii machine and I have been playing golf and ten pin bowling; not quite the same exercise level as the real thing but very enjoyable just the same. As with the real game my putting needs to be worked on after being away from the 'game' for a while. And.... I actually enjoyed driving to the Store (Ainster).... and doing a reasonable amount of shopping. I always come home by the 'back roads' because I like the change of scenery. That said, although I had the camera with me, I didn't stop to take any photographs; in fact I haven't taken any photographs at all today. Actually I might have a wander down to Ferry Corner after I have a cuppa!
Although the weather has been a nice enough I wouldn't call it summer weather. The villages seem busy enough with holiday makers in spite if the iffy weather. The hardest bit of the trip from The Royal Burgh' to Ainster is getting to Elie; after that it is straight forward. Liberty and Bank Street were choc a bloc with moored up cars etc... as was the Ferry High Street. The East Neuk is a popular holiday destination.
20.00 The Ferry High Street was busier than I expected it to be when I wandered down a few minutes ago; Williamsburgh was quiet!
22.00 This has been an enjoyable day, even though I haven't done much. Tomorrow is the 15th anniversary of Maggie (alias 'The Boss') suddenly dying; and, thanks to all my friends and family I am still pottering around.... albeit much more slowly now. I plan to have 'morning coffee' at Chapel Green.... if I can get the cat moored up near the turning point. Once I get back on the bike I'll be back to my normal Chapel Green routine. It's bedtime!
