Interesting sky .....
8th August 2024 (Thursday) 10.00 .... It's a nice fresh morning with a touch of Autumn in the
air. Michael and Janice set off early to the Almondvale Centre (Livingston); they should miss the worst of the traffic.... and plan to be back at Ivy early afternoon. Meanwhile I've had breakfast, and am now almost ready for some mild action..... pressing the TV handset buttons comes to mind. That said, I'm having a cuppa before going round we' the 'oover. Mind you I might leave that until tomorrow; when Janice and Michael are travelling back home to a sunny and warm Sussex.I thought about doing a washing but heavy rain is forecast; so the washing will be done tomorrow. This looks like being another 'rest day'.
17.30 Michael and Janice arrived back from Livingston just after 13.00, so we had a quick cuppa then went up to the 19th for lunch. I expected the 19 th to be busier, but the evenings are the really busy time for meals; after a busy day on the golf course or wherever. I enjoyed the being out, felt almost 'normal' but not quite. As ever the company, food and service was excellent; I actually had a half pint of Belhaven beer. I really enjoyed the meal and the time out; Michael and Janice stayed up in the pub
to watch the Olympics; but Michael escorted me back home first .... where I promptly settled down on top of the bed and fell sound asleep for an hour. When I woke up (just as Michael and Janice came in) I began to watch the Olympics. They then had to pack their cases and get themselves organised for tomorrow. I fell asleep in front of the tele and woke up not long ago.
It has been a funny old day; cooler than expected so it's back to the heavier jersey's and woollen hats! The rain has arrived and is settling in for the evening by the look of it; it is not a bonnie evening. It will be an early night in bed tonight.
21.30 The sky is breaking up, so we should wake up to a bonnie morning.... and even a bonnie day! We had a lot of rain in the short time (by Scottish standards) it was raining. I've been putting out both 'Bloo' and 'Broon' buckets because the bin men are going on strike next week.... with other dates to follow.
