Lovely morrrrrrrrrning .....

30th March 2024 (Saturday)     08.30.... We have a beautiful Spring morning.... mostly sunny with


a light breeze from the South.   The odd fluffy cloud drifts over and hides the sun for a few minutes .... but they help to make an interesting photograph:  however, a few showers might trundle over in the afternoon.   I haven't been anywhere yet;  there's not much happening ... apart from the occasional jogger pattering their way up up Ferry Road.

18.30    We've had a lovely Sprig day... apart from a few 'April showers' around lunchtime;  and when I was down at the beach!   They were only light showers but annoying; I had to keep wiping the camera lens.   I didn't actually go onto the beach but had a stroll along the bents and up Siward Lane, then home.

The street were busy with cars so I didn't get the bike out;  I might do that tomorrow.   Sundays are usually very quiet in the morning;  I guess it could be 'the morning after' effect.   I did another washing (I can only do small washings as the washing line is short) today and it dried even after the shower;  tomorrow I intend doing a woollen wash as the weather forecast is good.   I noticed a sharp drop in temperature when I was bringing in the washing;  it felt like it could be frosty inland.


22.15   I had a visit from Heather and Ray this evening  and we enjoyed a cup of my finest coffee and a  catch up of each other's 'news'.   When they went off home we noticed dampness settling on the car windscreens so we might waken up to a misty morning.  I am now going to change the clocks in the bedroom (the other ones were done this morning) then make my 'orlicks.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
