Brighter sky....

12th March 2024 (Tuesday)     08.30.... I am excited.... we almost had a sunny spell half an hour ago.   The



sky has bright bits in it this morning.... not 'iggzactly' bloo bits but definite brighter bits.   I feel the  stirrings of activeness in my leg bones.   Having said that the weather forecast is, 'light rain with a  moderate breeze', so I won't be taking the bike out just yet.... and won't be hanging out the washing, but,,, the promise of Spring is in a slightly warmer air!   Happy me.  

20.00   The slightly warmer mentioned above, was cold by lunch time... and any active stirrings  in the old bones quickly vanished.... and I went shopping instead.   I intended going to the Store (Ainster) to spend some of the 'Dividend' that has accumulated over the pat few years;  which has to be spent by the 31st December.   The car was pointing North.... so I ended up in Leven.  And.... I couldn't go to Alice's because she is away with Izzy for a few days... so I did the shopping and had a mug o' my ain coffee when I got back to Ivy.  The  A917 is operational again;  but we have temporary traffic lights in Upper Largo.  Anyway the shopping mission was accomplished successfully...albeit in the wrong shop.   I was back home by 15.00.... and my tae nails were flyin' all over the place by 15.30; and in the 'oover by 15.40.   Yep a successful day.

21.30    It's cauld out tonight.... in fact it's forecast to rain overnight and into tomorrow morning.   It will be an 'ousework/computer day for mew  if it is wet.   That's the 'plan' for tomorrow!   Tonight I am tired.... and well ready for the bedtime drink and bed with my book.   According to the weather forecaster the weather is going to be warmer tomorrow; it certainly wasn't warm when I was oot at the bucket a wee while ago.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
