Bonnie mornin' .....

4th March 2024 (Monday)    08.30.... It's a lovely mornin'.  There was a light touch of frost earlier


but it rapidly went with the rising of the sun at 06.54.... this could be a 'play day'.   I should really do some 'work'.... like clean the windows;  in fact I might do that in the afternoon.   'Blob' and pals have been fed, and the porridge is in the micro .... oops... the pan.... and the kettle is hot.   

18.30   It was a lovely morning so I decided to have a run along to Methil in the morning and have morrrrrrrrning coffee with Alice.   We had 'mc and cake' then sorted out the planet, and had a look round Alice's garden (which reminded me that I too have a garden).  By the time we'd done all that it was lunch time... and Alice had been making Scotch broth!    we had after lunch coffee before I made my way back to 'The Royal Burrow'.   The workmen are clearing the roadside ditch across from North lodge (Elie Estate) but they let us (two cars) through.   I suspect they might still be there tomorrow.

Back at Ivy, and after a catnap that lasted nearly an hour, I had a cuppa, then, because it was a lovely afternoon I biked up to Chapel Green.   There was a moderate SE breeze so not overly warm.  However I was well togged up and the only part of me that was cold was my nose.   If I was a dog I'd be a healthy one!


22.30    I couldn't believe my luck.... I decided to watch Episode 1 of a new crime thriller set in Brighton.  DCI Grace is the main man, but the exciting bit is that the area it covers takes in Lewes, Crowborough, Uckfield Newhaven and loads of places around Brighton that I know.     I'm not a great TV watcher but will watch all the Episodes of this.    As soon as they mentioned Uckfield and Lewes I was hooked!

I've had an enjoyable day today;  tomorrow I'm going do some 'work' around Ivy.   Might even clean the
windows;  I've been threatening to do that for a few days.   Weather permitting I'll have a short run on the bike.   'Sunny intervals with a moderate breeze (SE)' is the weather forecast .... with the chance of light precipitation at round about sunrise.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
