Early morning mist .....
17th February 2024 (Saturday) 07.45 .... It's a nice morrrrrrrning but it's overcast with a mist

coming in from the North Sea; 'light rain with a moderate breeze' is forecast for our area with the main band of rain arriving later in the afternoon. I'm vertical, and slightly stiff after being out on the bike yesterday, but, apart from the stiffness, I feel better for the exercise. I'm going to Leven after breakfast to do a wee bit of shopping.... and to have morrrrrrrrrrning coffee with Alice. Slight 'flap on' because I want to be in Leven before the High Street gets busy.
21.30 As planned I went to Leven to do some shopping. First I went up to Alice's HQ to pick up Alice, then we went down to Leven to do the shopping... in the High Street. Ye Gods.... it was sad seeing how quiet the High Street was: it was early (09.30) but it used to be busy with people even at this time on a Saturday. Cars, Super markets and online shopping certainly sorted out the UK High Streets. Leven High Street was a vibrant, happy place up to about 30 years ago. Anyway we did the shopping (birthday flowers) then wandered up the High Street and had coffee in 'The Hub'. 'The Hub' used to be a WH Smith's.... in fact if you go further back it was Cormie's, before the old building was demolished and present 1960's architectural gem built.

We enjoyed our coffee/tea in the Hub; loads of interesting old photographs on the walls... and... it's a good place to browse people as they wander past the windows. On the way back to the car we met Margaret (her son married an Earlsferry girl) and Yvonne two of Alice's friends.
Back at Alice's we had another cuppa (and cake) and caught up with Alice's news. Alice was going to the Scoonie Care Home to visit three of her friends after lunch, so we had an early lunch before I dropped Alice off at the Care Home on my way home.
I arrived back at Ivy at 14.15..... made a cuppa and was asleep by 14.30: my cycling effort yesterday has caught up with me. I slept for nearly an hour; and watched snooker for a while.... before having a sandwich for a snack dinner... having had a big lunch at Alice's. Alice It will be an early night in bed
tonight for 'the boy'. The plan is to go out on the bike tomorrow; the weather forecast is 'good'.
