Quiet morrrrrrrrrrrrrrning ....

 29th December 2023 (Friday)     08.45.... the wind moderated overnight and the rain has


moved away, to leave us with to a 'sunny spells' day!    I am going to Leven after breakfast to get some bits and pieces, have morrrrrrning coffee with Alice;  get back to Ivy then settle down to a weekend of research and writing.

19.38    The shopping mission was a success; and the shop (Sainsbury's) was really busy.... mostly with young folk around about my age.   I managed to get everything I wanted plus the odd 'goodie' that jumped intae the trolley.   That's me well ready for a quiet weekend working on the computer.... with regular 'cuppa breaks'.   I enjoyed my morrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrning coffee with Alice.... she is always happy, and I was 'down in the dumps' now that I'm back home and missing 'the Troops', and was in need of cheering up   Unfortunately I couldn't stay with Alice for lunch as I'd bought frozen food... including fish.... but she gave me two different servings of her homemade soup .... and I'll be fine once I get back into my routine.    Actually I have been tired today, and, after putting the messages away I spent most of the first half of the afternoon sleeping:  however, I feeling rested now, and should be back to normal after a good nights sleep.

Not taken  today!

22.30    The weather forecast for tomorrow is a bit mixed up.... dry at first then windy and wet (perhaps even sleet) later.   Not a 'good washing day'.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
