Coronation Day .....
6th November 2023 (King Charles III Coronation Day)
07.00.... there’s a bank of low cloud come in from the North Sea so we have a Grey drizzly

start to this especial day; but it is warm. I’m ready to bumble along to Alice’s to watch the pomp and pageantry of the Coronation on a big screen. I hope the weather is brighter down in London and Sunny Sussex etc. I’m looking for sunny spells here; but at the moment it the sky doesn’t look promising.
18.30 I’ve had a brilliant day watching the Coronation
at Alice’s: we watched it from 07.45 through
to 15.00. We had a break for lunch....
loads of ‘Coronation Party’ nibbles washed down with non alcoholic juice....
and a cuppa, so we didn’t miss much of what has been an awesome 7 hours
television. The UK does spectacular
very well and this was spectacular! Everybody
did their bit perfectly; the ‘troops’ on parade, the Archbishop of Canterbury
and all the officials at Westminster Abbey, the police and security people, and
.....all the people behind the scenes that made it happen, including the BBC cameramen
and reporters.. It made for fantastic
viewing. The only thing that wasn’t
perfect was the weather.
21.30 It has been (and still is) a damp evening; in fact it’ a while since we’ve had a decent spell o’ rain so it will do the gardens a lot of good. I spent most of the evening sound asleep in front of the tele. Tomorrow is forecast to be ‘misty with a gentle breeze’ so the heavy rain we have at present is going to fade during the night. Hey.... we might even get ... yep .... ‘sunny spells’ tomorrow!
I
have enjoyed Coronation Day; it was
everything I thought it would be.....but much better watching the day unfold
with Alice; and on Alice’s big screen tele.
And the photographs (all from the BBC
coverage of the event) taken from it are much brighter than the ones I take from my
own TV.
Nae plan for tomorrow; not until I see what the weather is doing. If it’s damp it will be
a day with the pencils.
