Calm morning ....
11th May 2023 (Thursday) 07.00 .... we have a balmy start to the day with
‘wall to wall’ blue sky and only a smirr o’ a breeze from the southerly direction. ‘Sunny intervals with a moderate breeze’ is the forecast for our area.... and no mention of precipitation: a good drying day.
22.30 I went to Leven to visit Alice and did some
shopping in Sainsbury’s on the way. The
temporary bridge, put in place while the serious work happens to the ‘Bawbee Brig’
(new deck), has sorted out the traffic problems: there are no temporary traffic lights and no
hold ups. There’s a huge new roundabout
that will, presumably, be used (after
the Bawbee Brig’ is back in action) to take traffic onto the former ‘Leven
Lum’ Power Station site.... to service whatever they put on that site: planting flowers in the middle of it (the roundabout)
would brighten up that corner of
Levenmouth.
Alice and her neighbours are busy sort of small game hunting, just now: ants. The area seems to be a hot spot for them (ants) and one or two wander into the houses.... hence the ‘small game hunting’. When the warmer weather comes the hunters will find the nests... and call in the Pest Control people.
Joyce,
(Alice’s friend) came along (from Thornton) to visit after lunch, and the three of us sorted out the world ....
again. I left the girls chatting and was
back in Ivy by 14.30; made a cuppa,
went out to The Hutte and promptly fell sound asleep.
It has been a glorious day of sunshine ... and warm... well it was until the haar drifted in
off the North Sea. ‘Light cloud and gentle breeze’ is tomorrows weather forecast .... so a nice enough day.... with sunny spells. We like sunny spells. The wind is going to be from the ENE so there could be a chance of the haar coming in. ‘Nae plan’ for tomorrow; might make it a ‘rest day’ and potter around Ivy.... drawing mostly. I should finish the ground plan (with the pews) tomorrow; that will be an achievement I can tell you!
