Feeling spritely....
6th March 2023 (Monday) 07.30.... Hmmmmm.... it’s cold this morning, and
we’ve had a shower of rain overnight but, so far, there’s no snow; in fact there’s no snow to be seen on any of the Fife Weather cams. At the moment the sky is overcast but that should break up to give us ‘sunny intervals with a moderate breeze’. It’s a good day for working with books.
15.00 My word; it’s a bonnie, sunny and warm,
day... as long as you are sheltered from the brisk wind. I actually considered going out on the bike
but doing that would be stupid so soon after the ‘flu. I
will have a walk to the beach in a wee while.
The
car didn’t get picked up this morning (a mix up with communication) so I have
organised for it to be serviced next Thursday (16th) at Leven Fife Auto. I have been using Leven Fife Auto for 30+
years and only started to use the St Andrews branch during COVID. I’ll spend the day doing tapestry up at
Alice’s. I went to the Leven this
morning to organise the car, do a bit o’ shopping and have a cuppa with Alice.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I got to the outskirts of Leven: temporary traffic lights were being set up to accommodate roadworks on the Largo Road 100 metres East of the Scoonie Brae roundabout. ‘Practice makes perfect’....sometime they’ll get whatever they are doing right.
21.30 The first batch of concrete was poured at ‘Earls
Lodge’ this morning; this is exciting progress. Instead of digging trenches, the trenches are
now starting to be filled. They are an
impressive, and efficient, team of workmen.
The
bookcase shelves are all in place; in fact the books are back on the top two
shelves. The bottom two will be
finished tomorrow morning.
It was too cold for me to wander to the beach at sunset time, so I had a run down to the
harbour. The first thing you notice at the harbour is scaffolding in place on the North end of the granary. It looks like there’s going to be a lot of work happening to the top flat.
Tomorrow
is going to be another ‘bright, breezy and cold’ day; a bonnie day to be out as long as you have
plenty layers on. It was pleasant today
when sheltered from the wind.
