Feeling lovable ....

21st March 2023 (Tuesday)      “Happy Birthday to Iain (58 today);  jings... that’s the same age as I will be in a couple o’ days.  

08.00.... The light rain has moved away and we have a bonnie morning... with an

'Goldeneye'.

interesting sky.   Actually, I am looking for a good drying day ‘cos I have a washing on;  if the washing doesn’t dry today it will tomorrow;  because tomorrow is going to be windy.... as in’ strong winds’.




22.00    The weather was amenable this morning so I did the Elie Estate bike run again;  and, although tired, I am happy with how I’m feeling.   It seems that it takes me about six weeks to get over a ‘winter bug’.   Once the weather settles down to Spring/Summer I should be buzzin’.    Anyway, after the morrrning trip on the bike, I had breakfast, then went to Methil to visit (and torment) Alice.  I wanted to go to B & M’s so we did that, and met Jock (sometimes ‘John’) who was in ‘flap on’ mode as he had to get back to Elie to get Honor’s lunch organized.    She is a lucky girl!


Now where was I?    Oh aye... Alice and I were in B & M’s;  where we met Jock!   B & M’s didn’t have what I wanted so we went to Starbucks and had morrrrrrrning coffee before going back to Alice’s for a bowl o’ soup.   By this time showers were starting to bumble their way over Methil so I bumbled my way back home to rescue the washing.   It had been caught by one of the showers but was nearly dry so I brought it in.

My afternoon was spent mostly dozing in front of the tele;  which is more or less what I expected would happen.   I hope to get out on the bike again tomorrow, but there’s a lively weather forecast.... wind and rain.   Both wind and rain should moderate by lunch


time;  I might then go out on the bike.  The wind is freshening and the rain (heavy) is supposed to come in soon: Could be a wild night.    

I’m thinkin’ it is chocolate time after a busy and enjoyable day.   I’m also thinkin’ that if it is wild and wet first thing tomorrow morning, I won’t get up until 07.30.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
