forecast and it is going to be warmer ....
good biking weather; and I have
been a busy boy already this morning .... having been on the beach, then along to Elie for the papers,
down to the harbour; then home to sort
out the photographs taken on the way. I’m
hungry .... and thirsty! and well ready for breakfast. The bike will be out .... once the sun gets up and warms the air a
bit.
09.30 It’s hard to believe but the air is cooler
now than it was when I was on the beach:
two reasons for this.... one the breeze has freshened slightly (it’s
from the Southeast) and there’s a layer of thin cloud filtering out a lot of the heat from the
sun. Meanwhile down in Sunny Sussex
they have ‘wall to wall’ blue sky and a temperature of 16c...... it’s 9c in Ivy garden just now.... and the
biking plan is on ‘hold’.

Warm, breezy and hazy afternoon. |
19.30 Dr
Calderwood, Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer, was photographed (not by me) over
from Edinburgh checking the family’s second home (there are second homes and
holiday homes; and there’s a big
difference between the two). I can
understand people wanting to make sure their homes are safe but it wasn’t a
very clever thing to do at this time.... and certainly not something she can be proud of. Anyway Dr Calderwood got her fingers smacked
by the Police and has apologised for her actions. It’s the stuff of nightmares.... the ‘Royal
Burgh’ being the headline news for the wrong reason.
The weather for most of the day has been
disappointing; it wasn’t until later in

afternoon that the sun really broke through the high cloud and the
temperature began to rise.... so I didn’t go out on the bike until 16.00 when I
circumnavigated the villages. There was
a lot of haze around which made for interesting pictures.
We
could wake up to light rain tomorrow morning.... however that should clear away
quickly and we will have sunshine with a brisk warm wind for most of the day. I might go out on the bike.... it depends on
how windy it is. There’s plenty to do
around Ivy.
