Overcast but bonnie with it ....
19th
October 2016 (Wednesday)
.... 09.00 The weather forecast was
for ‘bright and sunny’ and this is what we have: it’s a beautiful, fresh morning,
definitely a morning for being active. My ‘plan’ is to go for the paper, then down to the harbour, for a wee walk
around: after that I think I’ll do some
work around Ivy.
Traffic lights on Ferry Road? ... only for a couple of hours. |
21.30 For some reason I did in fact do some work
around Ivy ... wonders will never cease.
The weather remained mostly overcast, but it wasn’t cold,.... what wind we had was light: Having said that the temperature is supposed
to drop overnight, with -3c up in the Highland glens. They will wake up to a beautiful crisp morning
... we will wake up to a cold one.
Jimmy
came along in the afternoon; he’s
counting down the days until his 90th birthday next Tuesday, the 25th. We had a reminiscing session this
afternoon, before we went up to Elie then down to the Harbour for a walk out on
the pier. I don’t know how I managed
it but there are still four boats in the harbour, not three as I wrote
yesterday.... so the harbour doesn’t look totally desolate. We weren’t the only ones
down there ; though it wasn’t “iggzactly” overcrowded. The villages
are in fact very busy: the beach at the Breakwater had a number of
families enjoying ‘beach’ things. The
villages looked good from the pier, even on a grey day. Yes we are lucky living where we do.

We
will awaken to a cooler ‘tomorrow’ according to the weather forecast: overcast at first with the sun breaking
through in the middle of the day. I
have no ‘plan’ for tomorrow, apart from the ‘Drop in Cafe’ in the afternoon. The wind is supposed to be ‘light’ all day,
so there may be ‘reflections’ to be had, depending on the state of the tide. I might get ‘up’ early. Latterly I’ve been waiting for Wallace and
Gromit firing up before making a move .... however I’m beginning to feel mair in
need of an adventure, even just a small one;
the pills must be working.
Overnight
there will be the third, and final, final “Hilary Clinton v Donald Trump”
debate. It will be interesting to see how Trump
tries to resurrect his campaign. His ‘chickens are
coming in to roost’ right enough.
