Fisher and Donaldson's, Cupar ......
28th
July 2016 (Thursday)
.... 13.30 The weather forecast has
been ever so slightly ‘wrong’ .... we have had a bonnie, sunny and warm
morning, with the odd cloud covering the sun now and again. The forecast was for it to be cloudier with
the
chance of showers later; the
‘showers could happen later in the afternoon;
the clouds are beginning to look more threatening!

‘M’
and I have been up to Cupar where I took ‘M’ to the only ‘proper’ shop in the
town .... “Fisher and Donaldson’s”!
We had a latte and a Fudge Doughnut.... the last of the holiday
foods. As we were leaving the shop, we
met Michael and Janice on the way in;
they had been to a ‘Country Wear’ sale in Strathmiglo.. and were in need
of ‘food’.
‘M’
and I came home from Cupar, via Ladybank and a lot of country roads, ending up
on the Largoward – Elie road eventually.
22.30 Ivy is empty tonight ... and I am not
liking it at all. Janice, Michael, (and
‘Bonnie’) set off on the drive home, to Uckfield in Sussex, at 19.00. Luckily ‘M’ was

still here so that helped to
ease the ‘parting’. ‘M’ is now back in
St Monans... so I’m now back ‘in charge’ of ‘me’ .... a daunting thought.
All
four of us have had a busy day; Janice
and Michael getting their cases packed for travelling, ‘M’ catching up, and
answering, her e-mails... and me pottering around doing a bit of gardening. Oh ... I have a plague (small) of
ants; literally small, because they are
‘wee’ black ants. They are not acting
like proper ants; the ones I have are
aimless in their wanderings, which makes me think their nest has been
disturbed, and they are ‘queen-less’, ... and ‘lost’ without a leader. There aren’t that
many of them around ...
today the four of us would, collectively, have killed about two dozen. Tomorrow I’ll try to find where they are
coming from; if the nest still exists .... and eradicate
it. It will be hard to get some photo’s
of the little blighters... they are nippy;
in all ways.

Michael
and Janice stripped their bed this afternoon, and put the bedding through the
washing machine; so I’m looking for a
nice drying day tomorrow. In point of
fact the weather forecast for tomorrow is favourable for anyone doing a washing: mostly
sunny, though there could be a cloudy start to the day, with a light drying
wind, and ‘friendly’ clouds pottering their way over. Yes... I shall be ‘up’ early and to get the
washing on the line.
