Breezy and warm ....

18th November 2021(Thursday)     09.00 .... It’s ‘bright, breezy and warm’


this morning;  a perfect day for me visiting the hairdresser.   I’ve been for the paper, photographed the sunrise, given ‘Blob’ his breakfast;  now I’m ready for mine.    Oh ... I’d better phone the hairdresser to find out in Kirsty is ‘operating’ today.

10.00    My appointment (hairdresser) is at 14.00.   I’ll go to Leven early to do the other things I have planned;  the car through the car wash, then wee shopping’s at the ‘Cheap Shop’ and Sainsbury’s.   I think it is ‘coffee time.

19.00    Everything I wanted to do in Leven has been done; including having my haircut .... I can see my lugs again.    I enjoyed today’s mini adventure, even going to the two shops.   The ‘Bargain Store’ was busy;  I’d arrived at the same time as a batch of mothers with kids (local nursery playgroup?), not one of the mothers was wearing a mask, (didn’t expect the children to wear them) so that made me feel pensive.   However, when I remembered that I’d had the ‘jabs’ I started to enjoy the shopping.   Sainsbury’s was the quieter of the two shops, with everyone I saw wearing a mask.

The most entertaining mission I went on today was going through the car wash;   not the whole car was,.... it’s the dangling things that polish the car, the last action of the car wash sequence, that fascinate me.     It’s like there are a lot big cats whisking the car with their tails; and it’s the soft, floppy way they work.   It’s worth taking the car through the wash just to see them.... and the car is clean when you come out.

When I finished the shopping I had 25 minutes to spare, before my haircut appointment, so I went down the Leven beach.    The tide was in so I didn’t get onto the beach but found a seat and watched the waves.   Wave and cloud watching;  I could easily do that ‘full time’.

21.30    I think I’ll have a wander down to the beach at sunrise time, for a change of


scene.   The tide is out in the morning so there will be a big beach. And, as it’s going to be warm the beach might be a pleasant place to be, even if it is breezy.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
