Autumnal morning ....

3rd November 2021 (Wednesday)     08.30 .... It’s a lovely, autumnal


morning,....  a great morning for doing things.  I’ve been for the paper.... then ended up at the Store instead of the harbour:  I’d realised that sunrise was not going to be visible because of low cloud, (it would appear above said low cloud about half an hour past sunrise time).    Anyway I did a spot of shopping, which has been ‘put away. And I am now ready for breakfast.

There’s a  fresh breeze (will dry the washing) and it’s cool on the lugs, so I’ll go out on the bike once the temperature rises:  Might do a bit of cutting back in the garden until then. 

19.00    It has been another beautiful day.... and I have enjoyed it;   and that includes doing a wee bit in the garden.   I went out on the bike later in the afternoon (to catch the sunset from Chapel Green) and I was not disappointed;  it was one of those colourful and peaceful sunsets.   The first time I went round to Chapel Green (I go out on the Sea Tangle Road) the sun wasn’t lighting up Elie as I wanted so I went back to one of the sunset facing seats and ‘snapped’ happily for  about ten minutes.   On the way back to


Chapel Green I met Andrew and Anne out walking with friends;  friends from South Africa, who regularly look at the Elie and Earlsferry photos page on FB;  we are truly international.   The light was just as I wanted it when I got round the Chapel Green, so I really enjoyed another session of ‘happy snapping’.    Our villages, indeed the whole of the East Neuk is perfect for folk who enjoy beautiful scenery, and taking photo of beautiful scenery.  I have a lot of photographs to ‘play’ with.    

I am one really tired bunny tonight;  I think I overdid things yesterday... and today.    An early night with the book is called for.  

20.00    The weather forecast is good for our area tomorrow;  I ‘plan to go up to  Balcarres in the middle of the day.  I’ll need to go for the paper then charge up the bike when I get back;  that way I have enough battery power to potter around the estate if I


want.   It all depends on how warm it is, because it is going to be colder tomorrow.    Orf to make the chocolate, and see if I can find anything I fancy watching on the tele.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
