Peaceful morrrning ....

15th September 2021 (Wednesday)     08.00 .... We have a lovely, if slightly


cloudy, start to the morning.... very quiet and peaceful.   This is an important date in the calendar;  100 days to go until Christmas Day.    I’ve been for the papers and down at the harbour.... now I am ready for breakfast.   ‘JB’ is ‘up and running’ (this is going to be a ‘study’ day for him);  I am ‘up’ .... and feeling frisky actually.   I’ll get the bike out and do a round of the villages later,  and let ‘JB’ get on with his studying.   Em and John are coming along for a cuppa, before they set orf for Somerset;  it looks like being a nice day for travelling.  

21.00    We’ve had a busy day;   Emily and John came along in the morning to have a cuppa,  a walk, and play, on the beach before going back to Kirkcaldy for lunch..... after which they would set off for home (Somerset), stopping to have a break, and a cuppa, with John’s Gran in Cumbria.   They should arrive home about midnight.


‘JB’ and I went to Woodhaven  after lunch, to deposit some glass at the re-cycling depot:  ‘JB’ then went for a walk out to the Lady’s Tower and Elie Ness Lighthouse, while I enjoyed myself pottering around, from seat to seat, at Woodhaven with the camera.   It was a beautiful ‘light’ o there was much ‘clicking’ done.

From Woodhaven we decided to have a run to Upper Largo, then up to Largoward, or a change of scene.... and see if we could find where the access to Largo Law was;  John fancied going up the Law.   The path that Maggie and I used has been closed by the farmer.   We didn’t fund the new access, but did see the notice(s) saying where it ‘Wasn’t’. 

In the afternoon ‘JB’ got Maggie’s bike out5 of the shed, inflated the tyres and generally checked it over;   tomorrow we will do Elie Estate in the morrrrrrrrning.... assuming the weather is OK.   The forecast is ‘good’.... “sunny intervals and a gentle breeze”.

I am tired tonight so should sleep like a log.   Funny thing I’ve noticed lately; horizontal

is easy and relaxing .... vertical has a much better view, is harder on the knees, but mair enjoyable.   Keep takin’ the pills Alber!   Orf to annoy JB ....  who is trying to study!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
