Bright, sunny and ... warm!

28th May 2021 (Friday)      10.30 .... this is the weather we have dreaming


about;   it’s bright, sunny and warm .... shorts weather really, but the waist-band of my shorts has shrunk with.... lack of usage!    

We have a lovely morning and I have been for the paper, down to the harbour, clicked the camera button numerous times chatted to numerous people;  I have had an enjoyable morrrrrrrrrrrning.    I would have gone through Elie Estate but the bike battery was low;  it’s now being charged.   If the roads are not too busy I’ll go ‘inland’ in the afternoon.


16.00    It has been a gorgeous day.... unfortunately  a cool onshore breeze  and a thin layer of cloud, took the edge of the temperature, in the afternoon... and there’s the possibility of haar drifting in off the North Sea.    It was brilliant at ‘my time’ of day.


Ferry Road has been extremely busy with vehicles; at one time it was like London Road in Uckfield;  however it has calmed down now.   I had thought of going out on the bike but changed my mind;   the bike has a fully charged battery so I might go for a longer ‘paper run’ tomorrow morning..... if the weather is fine.   The weather forecast is good for the weekend but .... this is the East Neuk, and the North Sea can influence our weather forecasts.  




19.00    I’ve had a good day;   I even managed to do some work in the garden.    It wasn’t really a day for working in the kitchen, but I made 5 Cottage Pies for the freezer when the bike battery was being charged.     And.... read the paper, did a Soduko  .... then fell asleep, in the Hutte.

 ‘Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze’ is the forecast for KY9 tomorrow, so it looks like

'Archie' - the Elie skiff being launched.

we’ll be having another nice day;  the ‘gentle breeze’ is going to be onshore again and cool, with the threat of haar in the afternoon, but no mention of rain.    I’ll go out early, and might even take in Elie Estate on the way home.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
