Fantastical clouds ....
22nd
May 2020 (Friday) 08.30 .... it’s breezy this morning and we
had
spits and spots of rain in the wind at times; however the clouds were fantastical so I didn’t
notice the spits of rain. The wind is F4
out in Largo Bay just now but is forecast to freshen and reach F6 -8 later. It is going to be really windy
tomorrow.... with gusts up to 54mph.... F9. I’ve been for the paper and
down to the harbour: i very much doubt
if I’ll take the bike out today but I shall go for a walk sometime.
16.30 It has been a windy afternoon; the wind is F7 out in the Firth, info from ‘Ocean Greatwhite’ who is trundling out of the Forth, escorted by Skandi Bergen (off shore supply vessel). They are on their way to Tenerife.... well Skandi Bergen is.... Ocean Greatwhite’s eventual destination is ‘Granadilla’ wherever that is. A ‘granadilla’ is an edible a passion fruit that grows in South America.

21.30 The wind has moderated a bit but is due to
freshen again tomorrow; so, once again,
nae bike tomorrow. It will still be
windy on Sunday but at a more acceptable strength.
I
can’t get over seeing how ‘normal’ everything looked in ‘The Ferry’ yesterday
evening on the High Street ‘Clapping for Carers’. I
know it wasn’t ‘normal’ but it was just so good to feel that friendly
atmosphere: will it ever be ‘normal’
again. When I got too close to Marcia
it took me a full half minute to cotton on to what Marcia was telling me: I must have dropped my guard because up till
then I had been
fastidious about the two metre ‘rool’..... and I have been
worrying about that lapse all day. It’s
the first time I have been amongst so many folk since this emergency began; so I will have to be really on my guard when the
‘rools’ are relaxed in a few weeks and the villages busier It was lovely seeing Earlsferry as a community .... that was magic. Apologies
to Marcia... and a few virtual (((hugs))).... I am a really silly and excitable
idiot. I read/heard somewhere that
next Thursday will be the last ‘Clap for Carers’; it’s to be hoped that the frontline troops of
the NHS and the Carers are properly rewarded for their sterling efforts on our
behalf .... I’m sure that’s what we would all like to see happening.
