Bonnie peaceful morrrrrrrrrrrrrning ....

27th July 2022 (Wednesday)      10.00 .... The paper has been uplifted... I


remembered to visit the harbour:  and we have a really peaceful and bonnie day.   On the way home from the ‘paper shop’ I went through Elie Estate;  my word... the loch, which  was like a mirror, has been photographed tae bits.   

I suppose I’d better think of ‘work’ now;  thinking about I’m good at....’doing’ ... not so good.   I have another two weeks before Michael and Janice arrive.   Loads o’ time!

22.30   I hope I have ‘loads o’ time’, because I haven’t done much today.... not ‘work’ anyway.    I went up to Chapel Green and reminisced on The Boss’s seat, took a few photos, then went to see if Heather, Ray and Alistair were in residence:  but I’d left it too late, so I missed out on the coffee,.... and blether.   I had ‘morning coffee’ back at Ivy, and fed the Blob family.


After a lite lunch I did a wee bit ‘o housework before giving in to the desire to have ‘50’.   I slept for nearly an hour;  put the kettle on and went up to The Hutte to see how the bike battery charging was going... and did a Sudoku. Then I remembered that I’d taken a few photos up at Chapel Green so I sorted them out.  This has been  restful day.

I.ve been watching the Euro 2022 semi final between France and Germany;  it’s not as entertaining as the England  v Sweden game.....probably because England is the UK team.   Anyway the game has finished 2 – 1 to Germany so it’s England v Germany in the final on Sunday.   A touch of déjà vu;  but this time it’s the girls.  

Tomorrow I must do some work.   I’ll go out for a quick run on the bike first thing then I


have to stay in for a Tesco delivery at 10 anyway, so I’ll potter about with duster and polish until then.  I’m going to use online more often;  but I’ll have to sort out the ‘favourites’ list....there’s an expensive time, and a cauld winter, ahead.   

‘Light cloud and a gentle breeze, with a chance of precipitation’ is our forecast for tomorrow;  probably means scattered showers in the afternoon.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
