'M' in Elie ....

10th June 2016 (Friday) ..... 09.00   There’s definitely a mair serious ‘look’ to the overcast sky this morning, but it is not raining.... and it doesn’t feel as cold as yesterday, being that the wind, though still Easterly, is light.   I guess we could get
Margaret on the beach
some ‘spits and spots’ of rain, but that’s forecast to happen later today.... and tomorrow.    I’m feeling frolicsome this morning.... in a playful/biking mood;   I’m going along for ‘M’ at 10.00, so I’ll just have to ‘annoy’ her...... apparently, ‘M’ is not going to have ‘jet lag’;   not until after she has had a mug of Ivy Cottage Finest Blend!     Must go ... ‘slight flap on’, ....... I’ve just remembered that I still have to have breakfast.

22.00    ‘M’ (Margaret), bless her cotton socks, is impressed with the greenness of Bonnie Scotland;   in ‘M’s case Scotland is, literally, “the other side of the hill”... where it’s always greener.     I didn’t like to mention that we get copious amounts of water, and very little sunshine, during our Scottish summer.    ‘M’ left New Zealand in mid – winter, and the temperatures there are hotter than here:   I turned up the central heating!
We went along to Leven where ‘M’ was able to download money from the machine at Sainsbury’s;   and we celebrated by having a coffee in the Cafe, and some kind of succulent muffin.

After a delicious lunch at Ivy:  of, vegetable samosas and onion bhajis.... both ‘hot and nippy’.... we decided to go for a walk.   ‘M’ found our lovely Scottish summer rather cold;   I was much surprised by this!   The Master Plan had been to make sure that ‘M’ was warm inside, and wouldn’t notice the cold east wind.... hence the ‘hot and nippy’ lunch.    We’d have been better with Cornflakes and hot milk!   The route we’d chosen to walk meant that we could drop in to see Joyce and Dave.    This we did, and had a warming cuppa and catch up blether, before poodling orf down towards the beach.   With the wind  on our backs it was warmer, and almost pleasant going along the beach.      I took photos of ‘M’ at various locations.

For dinner we had, mouth-watering “Duck in Plum Sauce” .... (Sainsbury’s ready meals).   The duck was followed by something, even more mouth watering.... Lemon Cheese cake!    After a most enjoyable afternoon with ‘M’ .... it’s great being able to do things as a ‘couple’... I took her back to ‘base’ in St Minnins.
The weather has deteriorated, and it’s now raining .... which was forecast.    It, the rain, might clear away over the morning time tomorrow, but I suspect that tomorrow morning might be the time to do the ironing.
